The Arki police are examining the call details of five youths arrested in the WhatsApp viral chat, alleging paper leak in the recently held constables recruitment exam held on March 27.
- The police are verifying whether four of the five youths, who had qualified the written exam after clearing the physical tests, adopted any dubious means to secure the question paper.
- It is also being probed how did the caller secure the phone numbers of the selected candidates.
Police sources said that some call data had been deleted by a youth, who was the first to receive the call from an unidentified caller. The caller had allegedly sought cash for providing paper. The call log received from the service providers was being examined.
The police were also verifying whether four of the five youths, who had qualified the written exam after clearing the physical tests, had adopted any nefarious means to secure the question paper. A sum of Rs 8 lakh to Rs 10 lakh had been sought by the caller from the youth.
It was also being probed how did the caller secure the cellphone numbers of the selected candidates. The list of the aspirants, who had cleared the written exam, had, however, beien displayed at various public platforms.
The written test holds the maximum of 80 marks in the recruitment process.
